About Carrie N. Heieck
For twelve years, Carrie N. Heieck has represented individual and business clients on a myriad of legal matters – always with the goal of protecting her clients from and defending them against the inevitable pitfalls they face in our increasingly litigious and complex world. Ms. Heieck feels strongly that the most important service she can provide her clients is to assist them in avoiding legal problems in the first place. With a carefully devised “life” plan in place, Carrie’s clients feel at ease knowing they are protected.
Carrie Heieck has practiced law at both small and large firms and as in-house counsel for North County businesses. She has represented individuals, small businesses, and large institutional clients. The diversity of clientele and cases she has handled uniquely equips Ms. Heieck to handle her clients' diverse and often complex legal issues.
In her early career, she worked for a small firm handling family law, probate and estate planning, civil litigation, and real property disputes where she found herself in court on a daily basis arguing at motions, evidentiary hearings and trials. There, she discovered her affinity not just for litigating, but for winning cases even before trial with her expertly researched and drafted motions and briefs. Settling cases is also her strong suit as it is often the best route to avoiding a costly and risky jury trial. But she will gladly take a case all the way to trial if that route is in her client's best interest.
While working for various firms, she garnered some notable victories. She won a property case against a large corporation and its insurer on a property damage claim, a large settlement against a national grocery store chain, an appellate case for her client, a lender, in a wrongful foreclosure case which was published (Calvo v. HSBC Bank, 199 Cal.App.4th 118 (2011), a multi-million dollar case at a week-long probate trial, and the list goes on.
She segued to in-house counsel work for various North County businesses. Notably, she initiated a health care company’s franchising program helping the company grow and expand into six states. She also assisted with her business clients’ capitalization efforts, drafting private placement memoranda to sell stock under Regulation D so they could secure capital to grow. She has saved her clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in commercial lease negotiations.
As in-house counsel, Ms. Heieck discovered a passion for setting up and helping start-up and small to medium companies grow and succeed. She carries that same passion in protecting the assets and legal rights of her individual clients.
